    Whether something is original or not is not a black or white issue, but infinite shades of grey. Everyone has his own idea, and draws his own line too. Here is an example:

    A while ago I bought two vintage Vostok watches powered by the 24xx series movements, where the balance assembly are cross compatible. The early version has the movement bevelled all the way round, the later hasn't. Here, the earlier movement has a later balance assembly, and the later movement has an earlier one, so they were both non-original. I had them swapped around, to restore them to how they were meant to be. Needless to say, they are less non-original than before, and are how they were intended to be. To me, that's good enough, for I do not think that, by not having the balance assemblies first fitted to the movements at the factory would make them less-good, even if fitted with absolutely correct units.
