    Identifying old pocket watch

Hi guys. My mother found this pocket watch in a safe that belonged to my grandparents. We don't know much about it. How much is the watch worth? How old is it? Any info would be appreciated! It's made by Barraud & Lunds, 14 Bishopsgates London.

Welcome to Watchuseek! Are you sure that the watch was made by Barraud & Lunds?! I believe that they did assemble watches but they also imported them and that looks rather more like a Swiss or French watch. A look at the movement would help rather more. Ultimately, the watch and the box may (originally) have had nothing to do with each other.

Oh, I'm not sure... Just assumed it because of the box. Will post a new picture tomorrow. Thank you.

Had to check right now. Quite easy to open the front, but how I do open the other side? Can't fin the "gap" for it. Two hinges.

    Re: Identifying old pocket watch

    Good morning,
I am almost sure its a cylinder swiss made key wound movement. Very common XIX century pocket watch. Good condition.

    Kind regards

    Re: Identifying old pocket watch

I'm sorry but we don't give valuations here since it's too difficult to be precise. Generally speaking, though, pocket watches aren't worth much above their material value (the same with ladies' cocktail watches) since there isn't much of a market for them. Two or three handed watches, especially with cylindre escapement movement (let alone pin pallet "Roskopf" movements) don't fetch much. A pity - it looks like rather a nice watch, especially with that dial.
