    Illinois 21j Swing Out Movement Piece

    Thought I would toss a post the vintage forum way :)

    A new arrival and actually took pics this time...........

    Hi Jim,

    what a beauty. I guess some Illinois movements are the only with gilt screws
    and regulator - not only decorative, but also an efficient rust protection.

    Thanks. I picked it up from a guy I deal with on and off. I assumed the hands were blued steel actually did not give it any thought, as you can see depending on the angle they look black, I was extremely happy to see they were "railroad" purpled

    The watch is a beauty, but I don't think it's a RR watch as I'm reading "adjusted to 3 positions" and a watch of that era (1920s, based on the s/n) should be marked adjusted to 5 positions to be considered up to RR standards. Also Illinois RR watches were usually Sangamos, Bunns or Bunn Specials. What we have here is a highly jeweled, adjusted watch just a notch below a RR.

    Yes 3 positions. All you really need, go figure, either you are standing, fall flat on face drunk, or fall flat on back drunk!!
