Case looks later than the dial. No movement shots?

I will upload a movement shot when it arrives.I know,i know, never buy without a movement shot, but for the price, a calculated risk. That`s a good question about the case being later than the dial, could be a couple of decades apart, but i really like the shape of the case so i`m not that fussed if it turns out to be a re-cased pocket watch movement in later case,i find it`s a nice look.

To quote something from memory(maybe sketchy),Roland Ranfft provided info that the outer red numerals were used a lot later than previously accepted(1900`s through 1910`s),i think he suggested they were used into the 30`s in by some manufacturers, this might be the case here,it might not be also,if it is,the watch may be original.all here say,at this point in time.

Hello...very nice looking watch. I enjoy working on such pieces...they always have an 'issue'--sometimes several!--and it's fun to bring them back. I've found that replacing a mainspring can be challenging; the original's almost always way too tired, and my stock of NOS Swiss blue steel replacements will usually allow a close fit, but, as you might expect, I'd prefer to use a current Swiss white spring...alas, as a retiree, I usually cannot talk myself into the cost...still, breakage is essentially unheard of, so, it's OK! It would be interesting to see the movement, too...Have fun! Michael.

    Thanks Michael,
It`s amazing what can be achieved on budget if you have the knowledge, and skill set.I`m a tinkerer too,but not professional,I can swap out a part for a new part if it exists, but not repair a part that needs machining or the like. With the research i`ve done so far, this watch should have a Tacy (Tavannes/cyma) movement inside,so spares should be attainable.Hopefully it`s not a can of worms inside.

The movement is actually in great shape, after cleaning and reassembly the train action is super smooth with little wear to the holes, and the setting works are like new,

Hello! Looks like it'll be a good, strong-running old Swiss survivor...good luck with the 'transplant surgery'...! ps: what mainspring lubricant do you use? Michael.

I haven`t yet used a lubricant for the mainspring in my tinkering endeavors, what do you recommend?
