    Info needed on Vintage Cyma

    Hi all,

While cleaning out my grandfather's room a while back, i noticed a watch that was brand new in the box. It happened to be a cyma and I haven't heard of the brand since then. I was wondering if this is worth anything, if so how much. I'm not sure if i would wear it, as it does look delicate, but it looks really elegant. I believe the strap looks something similar to crocodile, and the movement is quartz. Let me know your thoughts on the brand and/or the particular model, as I don't have the knowledge.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

I only get "Your client does not have permission to get URL"

We can't give you a valuation and Cyma isn't the most collectible brand but some are more valuable then others and it would be nice to see it.

If you look at sold items on eBay you will see what I mean as the prices are all over the place.

Your watch isn't, strictly speaking, vintage. It's mostly likely early 80s at the oldest (my guess), which around these parts is, like, new. And the movement is quartz (battery driven, not mechanical), which also suggests that it's newer, rather than older. As Shum noted, Cyma isn't really a highly sought after brand – not to say there are folks here (I'm one!) who really like the brand, just that we are not in Rolex (ie expensive) country.

It doesn't seem to be a sold gold case, either, so that suggests a mid-level watch. I'd suggest searching in eBay under 'Completed Listings' and see what similar watches went for. Like this SWISS MADE VINTAGE CYMA 1862 CLASSIC QUARTZ MEN WATCH | eBay

You could more than likely sell it for enough to buy a harder wearing watch for yourself, but to be honest, this sort of sale is hard to get just right and I wish you good luck on it.

Gold watchers have a gold colored back as well unless it's a frontloader. So turn it over and see if the caseback is steal or gold.

Hi sorry to jump on this thread but I can't work out how to start my own.
Would someone be able to give me a little bit of info on a ladies cyma watch I bought yesterday? It is in a silver case with the word Dennison stamped inside and it's is 15 jewels.
    Thanks in advance.
