    Info Requested: Elgin 15 Jewel Gold Filled

    Here comes Part II of my watches. I do have many lol. I hope you are enjoying some of them, although I am sure some might be boring. I appreciate all your help so far, I have already learned alot.

    This one is hard to find information for, although I usually easily find info for Elgins. The problem is, I do not know how to open this watch. Anyone know how I can open it? Maybe a special tool is needed?

    Anyone recognize the watch offhand?

    Looks like a Rolex-type twist off back. You'll need a special tool.

    Non original band and probably crown. Nice looking. I'd guess 30's or 40's.

    I would say 1940s but you'll need to get the serial number off the movement to ID it precisely.
    I agree with Eeeb that crown and bracelet are not original to the watch. Not really a page turner, this one.
