The see through case back shows that it must be post 1980 (and probably more recent, possibly nineties). At the same time, although it is a little difficult to tell for certain from the pictures, it looks as if the finissage on different parts of the movement is not the same - e.g. the chronograph bridge (which bears the "Lemania" name) is shinier than the balance cock. If this is the case, this smells strongly of a "mariage", i.e. a movement put together from several different original movements. Lemania did also make watches with their name on the dial so it may well be that the chrono bridge was taken from such a watch.

Well, the movement is definitely a Lemania movement. At the same time, the "Lemania" engraving on the chronograph bridge is so crude that I have practically no doubt that it was put there post hoc. Definitely an attempt by someone to deceive to at least a certain extent.

    Hi Hartmut,

the signatures of these movements were actually that crude. This sample came directly
    from Orfina (Porsche Design manual):

In the 90s a reasonable stock of Lemanias from the 70s with such pedestrian finish was
digged out, and used by some smaller manufacturers for small special series.

    Hi Mihai P.,

I just got few informations from Orfina about the stock of Lemania movements sold in the 90s, i.e. only about the volume used by Orfina. But you can be sure that not many of the version with calendar was among this stock.

For precise informations you need to find out who actually produced this Vetta model. With some luck the present owner of the brand can help: Vetta :: Sito Ufficiale

    Re: Info Vetta Silver Shadow,mov.Lemania

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I was viewing these watches in local shops (Malta) and could not make sense of the silver markings. They are similar to the ones shown in these posts, ie. 925 silver and symbols. The shops said the case is solid silver, but here you said they are silver plated. Which is the correct information? For other objects, usually anything marked 925 silver is solid sterling and not plated. Anyone knows please?
