Info on a Vintage Wristwatch - HIRA

Hi there, I have just purchased this watch. I purchased it simply because of the price (£23) and I loved the look of it. It winds and works perfectly keeping great time.
I have searched the web for ant info about the make, but cannot find anything whatsoever about it, so I thought I would turn to you for your help.
The make is a 'HIRA Super Flat' 17 Jewel Swiss Made, and that is all that I know.
Any info would be great please. I have attached images

    Hi there,

The pin-lever movement in your watch is stamped as a Bettlach EB8800, of which there were a few variants all carrying that same number. With its sweep seconds hand, yours is more likely to be an EB 8801. Cheaply made, rugged to a degree, and still relatively plentiful, spec details here: https://17jewels.info/movements-en/m...1-eb-8800.html and here: bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: EB 8801

In the go-to database of makers there is one recorded as having been Swiss-based, namely Jacob Gutmann who registered a Hira brand in 1889. Unfortunately, there is nothing about your probably 1960s watch which convinces me of any connection with that company.

Enjoy your new acquisition in good health.

    Regards.

That is excellent, thank you so much for the information and enlightening me to what the watch is and some of it's history. Much appreciated.

It appears to have been well cared-for, but presumably needs a 16mm or 17mm strap.
