    Jerome Piquot info?

Hello all - since the forum and google search did not produce anything tangible, can anyone enlighten me with the info about "Jerome Piquot" brand from 1960-70?

    Thanks!

Not listed in Mikrolisk. Might be a private label. Pictures of the watch (dial, movement, both sides of the case back) would really help.

Thanks mkws, you are absolutely right. Don't have any pictures of the actual watch ready, but it is very similar to this one (has a different dial and bezel, might not be original), the movement should be Valjoux 92. More interested in the actual label than the specific model though.

The pictures tell me that this is a French brand and the parts appear to be generic i.e. assembled from bought in parts, rather than being a minor brand of a more famous manufacturer.

Thanks chascomm - is there a way to roughly determine the production period? So it would be a "generic brand" of an era? they do appear to be built decently though.

It was maybe a brand of Gigandet for the french market. I just found this one in a gold case.

Here is another one with The Piquot Watch Co. in the case back.

There a third one with an AS movement. The rotor is branded Teriam (Jean Hunsperger & Cie. / Teriam Watch / Montres Teriam SA ) and there is an unknown US import code.

There is even an older one but without additional photos

And the final one I have found is a boxed NOS one!! Case made in France and an unknown name (jos. a. taigman) on the AS movement. The US import code is different now.

I also checked in the french brands database but without any results

The unknown name (jos. a. taigman) gave some results.

    And a recased one. :(

The same import code. So the guy must have been an importer of small brands.

Strange case. Jerome Piquot seems to be a generic brand or a guy had connections for the french and US market. :)

edi: I can see j. a. taigman one the watch! :D And I'm not sure if I'm seeing an import code

Agreed. It is interesting that they all appear to have original (and very good) design. I am stumped by the lack of info considering they seem to be floating around in the wild regularly.

It's a keeper then, I like the mystery, no matter how uninteresting the truth probably is. :)
