    Junghans J47b/1

Would anyone be able to give a more accurate date for this Junghans? The movement is a 18.5''' J47b/1 and it must be from 1938 or earlier as it is is gilt, ref. Dr. Ranfft:
    http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...unghans_J47b_1
The case is gunmetal and the dial is matte silverish in colour.

Typical german simplicity,I like it.I would say late 1920's.

Although I don't normally collect wristwatches I couldn't resist when this 1960ies Junghans 687 showed up. I found that it would go well with the pocketwatch posted here, and with the new Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope that I have on order.

    That is really nice Erik.

    Wow!
    Great-looking watches, Erik!
I can't decide which I like better, the PW or the Chronoscope.

I can't get over how good that chronoscope looks, in fact one of the
nicest watches I've ever saw. The slim retro case, uncluttered chrono dial
and slender hands look superb. Is that 'Bauhaus' influenced design?
I like it a lot and though it's not a vintage watch.... it has that timeless look.

The designer Max Bill who did work for Junghans (the basic dial design for all Max Bill watches was made during the 1960s) certainly had his background from bauhaus:

Its truly a beautiful watch. I think I can link to this one:

    http://www.chrono24.com/en/junghans/...m?SETLANG=ENGB

as WUS recommends Chrono24 at the bottom of each page. A bit - well actually a lot - out of my league at present.
