Not bad at all, a nice quality movement.
I should've guessed it would be a Font, you're like a magnet for these.

Knowing the work your watchmaker is capable of I look forward to seeing this watch brought
    back into working order, congratulations.

I just think that every other trench watch produced is a Font....

My watch guy is out of action for the moment.... and have a back log! Certainly dont have the skills to look at this - after the stories Trim and you have scared me with about working on pre 20s watches!

But as you say, my watch guy is very good indeed.... think he also hates the fact i have bought so many early watches - eventhough he likes them himself!!

I have a very nice Black dialed, smooth bezeled Borgel wich needs some love.... waiting before I post the pics!

Well done Marc, it looks as if you've pulled another gem out of the hat to add to your collection once it's been fettled, and in the meantime the research will be interesting, and hopefully rewarding.

I think the IWM in London has access to WW1 Service Records, and they have some publications and photos of the Frontiersmen in Africa. I know you can make an appointment to use their research room if that's of any help

Thanks for the info John..... Hopefully I will be able to paint a full picture of the guy by the end of it!

As I think I said at the start... The inscription makes the watch for... The fact it's a borgel is a massive bonus!

Congrats, its about time you had some lessons from your watchguy, isnt he your father in law, I think you are missing a great opportunity on working with your own watches. Would be a big bonus if you can find the info on the guy.

    Great watch Marc.
