Just joined and have some questions about a Kienzle pocket watch.

    Hello,

Brand new here, but not to nice old mechanical pocket watches. Have a Kienzle pocket watch with a large red second hand and only the hour hand. Made that way. It's running, two hours fast, haha. Couldn't find any info on the net about this watch. The brass colored movement is marked 147/72. Has a day window above the six. It's in good shape, chrome case and light face. I assume it is a low end watch, maybe made in the fifties? Sure I got it off epay years ago for twenty bucks or less. Can any of you experts offer any serious info on this piece?

    Welcome to Watchuseek.

Moved your post to the more suitable forum.

Pics would help, without a pic nothing will happen. Make sure you add a pic of the movement. TIA.
    Kind regards

Was wrong about the minute hand, had one, now missin'. Will attempt to post photos of this one, and three other interestin' pocket watches. Alpina has a personalised slogan, Omega is one of their earliest, think 1895 or so, keeps amazin' time with only one jewel. Hamilton Master Navigation watch is a beauty, have to send it off soon to get the busted mainspring replaced. Omega will go with it, as original thick crystal was busted during Katrina clean up at work. Hope I can get the photos up...here I go.

Hi there. You certainly do believe in mixing up your pictures.....

The Kienzle has a Cal. 147/72 which is related to this one:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: Kienzle 146/00e

...and the Alpina has a Moeris movement, e.g.:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: Alpina 291 (Moeris 19'''B)

kienzle, now there's a blast from the past, my parents bought me a kienzle wristwatch for christmas round about 1968ish, it had a black face and the second hand was in a smaller circle just above the 6, it was german made and if i remember rightly kept good time.
