Picture Just recieved Omega 26.5SOBT2 '37 or.......?

Today I've recieved this Omega, what do you think it is?
I thought a 26.5SOB T2 but I'm not sure because it looks a bit different than the one's on Rafft.

    Here's the pics:

    Thanks for looking!

The case is very interesting, I have not seen one like that before. I must have a look through the archives.

I have 2 26.5 Omega's - the only photo I can find at the moment is this 1942 one:

Close enough to yours I think except I see the click has moved position - as the movement was in production for a long time, this could easily have been a change during manufacture. I am sure someone will be along with more info.

It's a style from the late 60's and 70's. What a movement from the late 30's is doing inside it is a good question.

The stop pawl for the ratchet wheel is on different sides in those two movement pictures (as trim pointed out). Otherwise they look nearly identical.

I fear you are correct - but fixed bars and a perfect fitting movement, original case back - I dunno. It could be a cushion transition - bezel rings like that show up on 30s-40s cases. It would be interesting to see more detail of the stem area. On the other hand, the lugs!....

Movement info in this thread - seems the click was quite mobile :-P

I had a quick look around and this seems to be the late 30s cushion case.

    and

This watch, note the click is on the same side as yours, with similar serial.

Thanks a lot guys for your reply's
It's a strange case but the back plate tells me it's original
The movement that you show (2nd post) Trim looks exactly the same as the one I show, serialnr. comes near mine.
After 1 day it seems to run great, just lose a few seconds in 1 day.
I'll bring it to my watchmaker tomorrow for a service, maybe he know's more about it.

    Again thanks for the help!

    Frans

ps. Just found one that looks allmost the same: http://vintagewatchstore.com/catalog...roducts_id=495

ps 2. Just searched on Google for "Omega 26.5 sob" and that gives more matches, I think that the case is correct for the movement.

There is nothing wrong with that case. Its authentic and original case from that era.Case number puts it in late 1930s.

Well, I am glad that has been sorted out. I really like it - especially the dial, I am so glad it isn't a mishmash. Case makes a lot of sense being a sports watch.
