    JW Benson?

Needed a JW Benson for my collection and just got this but it's a top loader and can't get to the watch shop for a bit to see what the movement is. Wondering if anyone recognized the model and knows what kind of movement it has? It's 34.1mm w/o crown and non hack, no quickset date. It has the Morgenstem punch on one of the lugs so the case is 9ct but I haven't located another one like it in my online search. The case back is marked water and shock resistant, antimagnetic. It has a rotor of some kind as I can feel it when gently shaken. 1960's or 70's is my guess judging from the style and dial but really not sure. It came with a blue JW Benson watch box marked London. I found CYMA, Smith's and ETA movements in other Benson watches and I wonder if there are any other movements they utilized?

That was my impression when I saw it listed and kind of a pipe dream but am hoping it may be. I purchased it from the UK but I don't know if Benson ever sold Omega watches branded with their name on them.

Thanks Gio! It is worn but sealed very well and has been well maintained for sure.

It has a rotor but it makes kind of a whizzing sound when I gently shake it. Is the case too thick to have a micro-rotor in this Benson? I am looking to add a micro-rotor to my collection and so far have read that Buren, Dugena, Bulova, Caravelle (?) UG and Hamilton all have watches with a micro-rotor and there is no tie from any of them to Benson that I know of but would be nice. Guess I will find out what the movement is when I get to the watch shop in a few weeks.

I think Benson used Longines for a while, but I also think it was long before the 70's! Sorry.

The case back is the wrong shape for a micro-rotor movement.
