It would help if you could post some sharp close-ups of your watch.

I can't seem to get a pic. It looks like this one on the link below (the only thing I can find even close) same case and chain-chain is marked 12K KGE. It winds when opening, plain face, the only information on the face - Kelbert , 17 jewels, Germany. On side us pat 2640668 us pat 2719402. I can't find much of anything about Kelbert watches. If the watch says Germany why are there US pat. numbers on it? I'm confused. What is a ermeto? Is it another name for a purse watch? Or am I way off base?

The link is to the Movado purse watch which is quite well known. Kelbert is more obscure. My best guess is it's a German movement in a US designed case. Without pictures we really can't do much, sorry.

Your watch would probably also date from the 1950s.

In Germany those watches have been sold in the 50ties and 60ties as "Reiseuhren" (travel watches) in large quantities. The pic shows a Stowa Reiseuhr, but there have been a lot of other manufacturers around. My assumption is that most of them have been Private Label Watches.

    Measurements: app. 50mm x 35mm (closed) und 80mm x 35mm (open)
Movement: Most likely a swiss or german (PUW or Durowe) 17 jewels movement

Those watches pop up on ebay frequently.
