    Ladies Watch Maker?

I'm watching a ladies watch on an auction site whereby it's in an Elgin case but she's not sure if the watch is Elgin as it's not marked (she's not comfortable opening the watch). Can someone identify this? The back is the same gold color with no markings. The band is a 10gf Kreisler.

    Empire style.

$1.00 if it's running - otherwise fiddy cents.

    Nobody wants 'em.

The majority of ladies bagette solid cases were melted at less than $1,000 an ounce.

When gold tops out again they'll be washing the gf and rgp cases with aqua regia.

Elgin usually marked there dials so I would guess not Elgin. The inside case must be marked with what material the case is. I.e. Gold or gold filled or plated. If it was not mentioned and somebody looked at the inside case I would guess it is not solid gold which does make it essentially worthless unless you like it. Just don't pay much for it.

Elgin or not, commercially rather worthless (the unholy fate of cheap ladies watches), sorry! On the other hand, if you like it, get it. I hope you will only have local postage, which should account for the major part of the total expense.

I'd want a lot more than that to take it.
