    Lancashire Watch Co.

I previously posted a thread about my Lancashire pocket watch (Which the kind folks at the Prescot museum dated to 1901), and the information you guys gave was great, but I have still yet to determine the quality of the watch. Does anybody have a little background information on the company and the quality of the watches they produced? I'm sorry if it seems like I'm spamming the forum a little bit.

There is a book, but its not cheap:

SMITH, Alan and ABBOTT, Henry G., THE LANCASHIRE WATCH COMPANY, Prescot, Lancashire, England 1889-1910. Part 1 - essay, part II - a trade catalogue, part III - papers.

Mind you, Amazon have one at £125 - so perhaps it is cheap. Maybe a good library - such as in Manchester - could get you a copy to read.

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.

I figure I'll just ring up the Prescot museum again, since they have a running exhibit on the company.
