    Latest project: Helbros 73H

I picked up two killer watches at a flea market for $3 each! The 1940ish (I think) Helbros is 14k and has a 73H movement. The Swatch is one of the more collectible Swatches. These were made in February of 1984, but then Swatch got sued by Corum for copying their dial, so production was stopped.

Anyway, focusing on the Helbros, I needed to clean the movement.. lot's of parts to keep track of.. lol

The 73H movement looks and runs like a high quality movement. I saw a 72H movement online.. looks the same but with the sub-seconds hand.

After finding a crown for it, buffing up the case, a new crystal, and period band it turned out pretty nice. Check out the fancy seconds hand! For now I removed the lume in the hands, but I may add it back at some point.

This movement is an AS 1158 with modified bridges, at least it looks like a 1158:

I think you are right. It has all the jewels in the same place (even the cap jewels).

Right maker, wrong movement. It's an AS 1287 or AS 1497 (the smaller cousin of the AS 1294 family):

Gotcha. So mine just has the two extra cap jewels (one on the back and one on the front) to make it 17 jewels.
