With profound thanks to a wonderful friend, who has put in probably as many hours into this research as I have -- photographic proof of Johnson wearing his Pacer:

I'm now pursuing a very, very hot lead for the veteran who was gifted it by Johnson.

Wow great pic of Johnson wearing his Pacer. I also have one, not nearly as nice or historically significant of course. This is indeed one of the best watch stories I have read.

    Re: LBJ's Hamilton "Pacer" Electric

It took a very long time but I finally got a set of extremely high-resolution scans of various photos of LBJ wearing his Pacer, from the LBJ Library. Aside from the library being backlogged, I got caught in the Government shutdown -- the LBJ Library is a government-run institution. So my request took a couple of months.

Here are the best of the lot. I have a few others which show the watch less clearly. But the clearest of all remains the one posted toward the top of this page. That's virtually an advertisement for Hamilton Electrics!

East Liverpool, Ohio, May 6, 1960. Campaigning through the midwest.

East Liverpool, OH, May 6, 1960. Handshake with notable guests.

Pittsburgh, PA, May 7, 1960. Four-way handshake with local politicians.

Reno, Nevada, May 30, 1960. Campaigning at Reno airport.

Omaha, NE, June 19, 1960. Campaigning. (Same session as photo posted earlier in the thread.)

Washington, June 20, 1960. Senate Staff Club party for Senators Dirksen and Johnson.

Washington, June 21, 1960. Sen. William Fullbright with LBJ.

Washington, DC, July 2, 1960. Press conference.
