Love the story and the watch.
Anyone know what watch ...... wore? ( if he wore one)
And, are there any Laco WW2 Luftwaffe watches arround.
Understand most were destroyed when their wearers were
    shot down from the skies?

A watch like this, with a history like this and the question ‘you might be interested’, posed to busmatt, is like asking Ivana Trump if she ‘might be interested’ in a 15 carat diamond ring.

Lovely Omega with a wonderful story behind it. Cheers Matt!

Curious which model, movement and case size you have there. Any movement pics?

I don't know that Omega had specific models back then but the case ref is 5579 as for the size it's 30mm ex crown and the movement ? as of yet I really don't know, I'll ask my watchmaker as I don't want to open it as it's just been serviced, I'd hazard a guess its one of these

    Mike or others

What do you consider "Truly a museum quality piece"?

Do you think if Matt donated this watch to say the British Museum, it would go on display?

    Curious to hear and why?
