Adam,I think it has great historical value but we have better access to it on the internet, in a place like WUS and its not locked up in storage waiting for rotation.

National Army Museum would proudly display this piece with such provenance, as would at least half a dozen other military and also non military horological museums.

    Wow!
I am mighty impressed you know what another institution would do, not just one but at least 7 museums.

Did you ask what their accession rules (conditions) are?

    I think not

It surely has historical value and condition is pretty good.
That however does not automatically get it into a museum and even less likely to get it displayed

For example does anyone know where Admiral Horatio Nelson's pistol is?

I think we can all agree such a piece " such provenance," must be in a Museum? On display?

It is very important that you ger this typed up and signed by your watchmaker + any other info he may know
"My watchmaker, who is Second generation, knows the full history of this watch, the watch was given to Donald on his wedding day, he was wearing it when he died and it was returned to his widow with his other effects the top lug was damaged and his widow had it repaired, a repair that it still carries to this day, my watchmaker's father serviced this watch regularly for Donald's widow as she wore it every day until she died in 2002 the servicing was latterly performed by my watchmaker and he purchaced the watch in the estate sale he kept it for himself or as he put it until he could find the right custodian for it, I'm proud that he thinks enough of me to let me have this watch and it will sit in my Omega collection very well."

I do now but it seems there may be some doubt of the true history and if it was actually Admiral Haratio's pistol.

Not according to the Museum that owns it.
I know well as I have both seen it (indeed touched it) and discussed it with the relevant owners.

Its a fantastic piece - modified for Nelson due to only having one arm!
