    Lets peek at television watch dials

    No Seiko. Not that type of TV watch.



    No D&G not quite although the crystal shape is getting there.



    No I'm talking about TV dial wristwatches. Prior to the 70's most square shaped watches looked like this.




    But in the 70's along came the TV dial watches, so called because of the similarity to the shape of the TV screen with softer rounder corners.



    The golden age of the Television dial was the 70's.








    No Seiko I said " Not that one"

    Guess this one qualifies as a TV dial alright... 1972 Atlantic Silverstreak.

    A TV watch should have a rectangle dial just like an old TV so Some of these are what's called Porthole watches.

    They are all darn nice though.

    That has a perfect TV dial shape, so if you watch looks like that then you know it has a TV dial.
