Little snail on AS 1002 984 watch movement - what does it stand for?

While working a AS 1002 984 movment I noticed a little snail marking. Pretty sure I came across this before but could not find any details what the marking stands for. It is quite different from all the other markings one can find so I appreciate your comments very much. Thank you.
