Commiserations - you never seem to get any breaks. I'm really hope something nice comes your way soon
I don't know whether I should be happy for you or want to kick you in the shins for being such a lucky %#[email protected]
The sad thing is that the gentleman has spent his life making things with his hands.. unfortunately, his eyesight is now such that he couldn't read the pocket watch I took around as an alternative.. I must remember his generosity when my time comes to hand on watches to the next generation.. I remember talking watches with him a few years back when he was making a beautiful sound desk for church out of some of the old pews..
That was very nice of him.
GET OUTTA TOWN!!. Great gift. Thats really nice but-I have had the same good fortune myself when I became close with a client of mine who just wanted a guy to tell his old 'diving' and 'sailing' stories to since his 2 sons were totally tired of them. So his dive watches-he gave to me. I treasure them. And btw-the man who gave you that Longines? Sounds like that will be me one day as everything I do, I do with my hands. I'm sure I'll be giving a watch or two here and there as my vision goes out from the advancing diabetes1. and whoever suggested finding a braille watch? That is a beautiful idea. If I do eventually go blind like the dos tell me-I already know what niche I can start looking into. planning my future wis escapades;)
p.s. love to see a shot of the case back
