    Longines - caseback hallmarks

Hello, everyone. This time, I'd like some help in order to clarify this doubt: in Longines watches casebacks from the 50's or 60's, where should the hallmarks be engraved: inside or outside the caseback? I've seen lately some golden models with hallmarks applied on the outer face of the caseback. I wonder if this is correct or if it is simply a replacement piece for a lost original caseback, since, as it seemed to me, Longines engraved all inscriptions on the inner face of the caseback during that period.

Photos are necessary, but the case(s) could be correct, as some watches cased outside of Switzerland did have hallmarks on the outside of the case backs.

In this case, let me show you one of the suspects:

Size: 284.0 KBName: long3.jpg

    Could that case be original?

Simply send your photos along with an enquiry to the Longines historical department, and they will confirm whether or not the case is correct.
