Hi - Hope someone can help... A friend has recently acquired a vintage pocket watch, and we are trying to learn anything we can about it. The casing is hallmarked silver - I think it states London 1865.
It bears the marking "251" on the face, the mechanism and the inner case. It is open faced and both face and rear case covers are hinged - the face cover hinges at 9 o'clock, and the rear case hinges at 6 o'clock.
There are no obvious manufacturer markings, although "EW" is stamped inside the casing.
I've attached some photos and would be very grateful if anyone can offer any insights or advice to finding out more about this watch.
