Looking for Info on Vintage DOXA Anti-Magnetic Automatic

Hi all, I recently acquired this older DOXA watch from the estate of a distant relative and wanted to see if anyone had any information on it. It's an automatic, no-date dress watch on bracelet and appears to be 14K gold. Currently not running. Looking for any info on the model, history etc. I have no experience with DOXA watches but am pretty excited to have come into this one, even though it's not one of the more iconic dive watches. Thanks in advance for the help!

The dial is marked "DOXA," "Anti-Magnetic," "21 Jewels," "Automatic." The back of the case has the serial numbers "1166485" above and "11514 14" below.

Inside the caseback are the markings "14K 0.585," "109," "DOXA S.A." and "Swiss Made." The movement is marked "Metal" and "Swiss Made.

    Cheers!

I'm not well up on Doxa - but it could be this one: bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Doxa 115 (ETA 2451)

If so around about 1960 which matches the look of the watch. Doxa lost all its old records in a flood years ago - so they can never help collectors.

Those are the closest ads I came across in a brief search.

I had one and really enjoyed it; they seemed to use good quality A. Schild and ETA movements, possibly among others. Solid brand, but I'm not aware that they really gave their models any names -- at least not for marketing purposes. As Marrick mentioned, their files were destroyed, so not much on tracking these old pieces anymore.

Thanks for the info! That's a shame about the Doxa archives--considering the boom in vintage watch collecting that would be a great resource.

The bracelet is about a half inch too small for me right now--any idea on getting this type of mesh bracelet extended? Seems like replacing the clasp would be the only option. What are the odds that the bracelet is solid gold?

You could try to find an extension piece for the clasp as I have seen watches with this. As the bracelet is a separate piece there should be a hallmark if it's gold.

Back home I was able to clean the watch up a bit and take some better pictures with my D7000. A little elbow grease with a Cape Cod and some sanding/polishing on the crystal make a big difference!

Found these additional markings on the back of the clasp. Difficult to make out what they are--one looks like the letters "MT." The other could be a tree or maybe a letter G? Could these indicate the composition of the bracelet?

The dial is in decent shape. I understand that dial refinishing is a no-no on vintage watches, but would it benefit from cleaning?

The movement looks like a match for the Doxa 115 picked out by Marrick above. This also jives with the engraving "11514" on the caseback. There doesn't appear to be any indication on the movement itself.

The plexi crystal had several deep scrapes and gouges in it but cleaned up beautifully. This is the result of wet sanding with 1400 then 2000 grit sandpaper and polishing with some Tamiya compound. The crystal just pops off the case--I wouldn't rate this as even "splash proof"!

Going to take the watch to my local repair shop to get an estimate on getting it into working condition. Thinking about contacting a goldsmith about having a longer, matching clasp made for it. Anybody have experience with this type of mod?
