    Lord Griford mystery dial

Bought this hand-winder on impulse -- looked interesting, but can't find any info on it. Anybody know about this brand?

Nice! All I can say is that mystery dials are technically very much like ordinary watches but that the hands have been replaced by revolving disks. Still, they are rare enough to be attractive to collectors. No information on Lord Griford, I'm afraid.

Hmm. Spent the evening trying to track down more. Mr. Google doesn't seem to know Lord Griford, but it appears identical to a mystery watch made by Louvic. Following that lead, I saw Louvic described as a "generic Swiss brand sold in department stores," and their mystery dial watch said to be an imitation of the LeCoultre mystery dial. Apparently LeCoultre also partnered with Vacheron Constatin and Jaegar to market mystery-dial watches. Maybe a look at the movement will give some more clues. I'll post more pictures when the watch arrives.

    Hi Kevin
    welcome
Try searching for the mainspring name 'UMBRAC Main spring'
I have never heard of that and it may limit the manufacturers.
