    Marvin Flying Dutchman Autodate

    Today I have received this:

I was rather taken by this https://forums.watchuseek.com/f11/mar...-a-457696.html posted by erasuretim some time back.

The strap doesn't fit well - its 17mm and should be 18mm - and the crown needs replacing. But it works.

The movement is a Felsa Bidynator 692 bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Felsa 692 Bidynator

In the original post, there was an ad with a 'from' price of $92.50 for an automatic. Using http://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm : "$92.50 in 1955 had the same buying power as $748.14 in 2010." - or about £460. I paid £73 BTW.

Congratulations! And count me in as a fan of these rather uncommon, high-quality models...

    That's a very clean example.

And it has a signed crown that I'm jealous of.

I really love these pieces and the history attached to them with KLM flight crew, motorsport drivers & this one comes with the only in-house movement Marvin ever made..very overlooked model! Here's mine with blemishes to dial that i don't mind at all..

    Re: Marvin Flying Dutchman Autodate

The watch was recently snapped up by a guitarist in a certain London band after a meeting we had at my home when he had come to deliver a piece I bought from him...here's a screenshot of the piece on his wrist after fitting a new strap of his choice. He absolutely loves it! I'm now on the hunt for another one to keep for myself so if there's any good ones out there for sale then I would be very interested...
