the meaning of a red star on the dial

Pictured below is a Felicia boy-sized watch from the 1970s, FHF/ST movement cased up in Hong Kong. Can anybody explain to me the meaning of the red star below the word Incabloc?

The owner of this watch also has a 1960s Titus with the same red star, and I've seen a 1950s Omega similarly marked. So what does it signify?

(to preempt the obvious response; no, none of these watches has been issued to the Soviet military )

Sometimes a star has an astronomical significance. Elgin had a star on their watch dials in the 1930s when they had their own stellar observatory.
