    Mimocean - Just arrived

Not rare but certainly an uncommon model by Mimo

    32mm stainless steel

    Two tone dial

Even more interesting because issued to Civil Service India CS(I)

    The movement

Nice watch - from a time when many watches were in plated brass cases! One reason why it stayed so clean, of course. The movement is probably a modified Peseux movement:

    Congrats, that´s a nice one!
And luck that it´s not a Mimosa.
    Best regards, Mike

I agree. In this configuration it has been later used also by Girard Perregaux

Bruce Shawkey's article on the history of Mimo (Finding Mimo) is interesting, with the innovations the company made (the Mimo-Loga was the first to include a circular slide rule), and how it owned Girard Perregaux to eventually get taken over by the latter (the "'child' became the 'parent'"). It turns out that Mimo produced a watch in the 1930s that had an 8-day power reserve. Anyway, the article concludes by noting that finding a pre-war Mimo can be quite the challenge. So congrats, on the find!

Nice! I wasn't aware of Mimo, very interesting.

Here's my Girard Perregaux Sea Hawk. Same case and dial style also.

And we recently had one of the Mimos with customised branding here, labeled Junod Freres, Lausanne.
