As a first-time poster, please read the forum rules regarding valuations, and do your fellow forum members the courtesy of not yelling URGENT because you want to buy something that you don't know anything about. You may want to hold out for one of their manufacture calibers like the 13-20 CH instead of that Valjoux 22. Now do your homework!

@ feldposten, I understand your enthusiasm, but I do agree. While there's nothing wrong with that Valjoux 22 (as long as it is running), but a watch with an in-house movement is far more unique and valuable. Also consider that any vintage watch you purchase from ebay or elsewhere will almost certainly need a full service of about $250/ 300ish. Chronographs are wonderful timepieces, but they are necessarily complex and need specialized care.
To borrow a concept from a very famous swordmaker, if you cannot afford to maintain the piece, you cannot afford to buy it.

[not sure why the above posters are so IRRITATED by a newbies post but I 'get' that op is excited and wants to 'snatch' up what he hopes is a 'great' deal, I would guess. Its a perfectly legitimate newbie post and the watch is a LOT better then most of the chrongraphs I have seen beginners start out with]

ITs not a bad piece at all. Dial is acceptable and wearable, imo, without worrying about a redial. Can't tell if the smudge is on the crystal which can be replaced. I think the hands were re-lumed at some point which is not a big deal. If your 'offer' is somewhere in the $200 to $400 region I suppose you wouldn't be doing too badly. If its under $250 its a very good price. If its for you to enjoy-go for it. But as was posted-factor in at least $150 for a cleaning. good luck

Well, its a typical newbie post but not "legitimate" according to the posted rules and forum etiquette. I've always thought that rescue answers do little to help a newcomer learn the ropes of watch collecting and will likely handicap in the long run. While my academic studies are a distant memory, I do recall the most effective profs being the ones who rebuffed my lazy attempts to suck them into leaking the answers...and god help anyone who neglected to cite references

Thank you all. I'm indeed a new in the watch collecting. But I have one Laco watch already:) Can you explain me the difference between Valjoux 22 and other mechanisms. I've got an offer from a seller of US$875 including post service.

Aloha, here is another newbie post not in compliance with your Rules. Does a Majestime stopwatch have anything to do with a Minerva stop watch? The face has no Minerva logo.

Hello Tom: what rules are you breaking? You are only handicapping your chances for a successful answer by not starting a new thread and not posting pictures Minerva was foremost a stopwatch specialist and sold their ebauches to be retailed under many names. The best way to tell is by seeing the movement.
