    Missing gold coin: King Seiko

Question: is it possible to find a replacement gold medallion for the back of a King Seiko watch?
I am considering buying one, and the medallion is missing.

Chances are low, being gold is the reason for it to be missing

Agree with laikrodukas, the same thing happens with Omega Constellations and they are impossible to find – I've been looking for 2 years for one of those. Seiko aren't really into supporting their vintage watches (as Omega once was…) so very, very, very unlikely you going anywhere with them.

It would be easier and cheaper to have one made by a jeweler.

I was under the impression and was told ( by a watchmaker) that those gold coin medallions ( and I have a KS with one) are not real gold or at best are plated. Anyone know for sure? They are cool looking no matter what!

The Omega ones are the real deal. Take a look on eBay and see just how common it is that the Constellation ones have been scrapped and melted. I have no reason to believe that the Seiko ones would be any different – solid gold is the whole point of them being there in the first place.

The cheapest solution is to buy a watch that still has one...

Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?

Good luck, but I think it's very unlikely.

I have a King Seiko with a chipped gold medallion missing about 10% of the original piece. I dropped the watch once, broke the crystal, and had to have a Seiko AD fix it because it was the only place that could find a crystal for it. The guy at the shop started looking around the watch and noticed that the gold medallion was chipped. He suggested that I should just remove it entirely since it was chipped. It took all of my willpower not to call him a complete idiot.
