    Is this Mondia FHF movemnt

    Hi,

    I have this Modia 17 Jewels sub second, after I checked Ranfft Watches movement archive, I fond FHF 29 has the same layout, but it has 15 jewels, the Modia has 17 jewels, any one could help to dating it and is it FHF series movement

    I would say that it certainly is from that series. While FHF made the movement with 15 jewels, it is quite possible that Mondia jewelled the centre wheel to raise the count. Remember that in the old days, you could buy ebauches (raw movements - basically just the "skeleton" of the movement) or "kits" (disassembled movements) to finish the movement to your specifications.
