    Please help. What brand could this movement be.

    I'm afraid that I can't find a match. All I can state is the obvious: with a repeater (or sonnerie) mechanism and a cylindre escapement, it must be old - probably pre-1850. The maker is french: Monteil in Toulouse so the movement may well be french too.

    "Monteil" (not Monteit) was probably the maker/assembler of the watch and need not have been the maker of the movement if he used an ebauche made by another company. If you google "Monteil" and "Toulouse", you get a few hits, maybe that will help you further.
