    MSR T7 movement

    Hi,

I caught a 21 jewels Vulcain manual wind watch recently that has a MSR T7 movement. I think most Vulcain are alarm watches, but this is one of those 70's simple hand wind watch. It is quite accurate though. Here is an image of the movement. I could find little information about it. I will appreciate any comments.

    Cheers,

    Zhang

    Re: MSR T7 movement

    Hi -

    Wish I could help.

Vulcaine is most famous for its alarm watches, but I think the majority were not alarm. Quite nice and in very good shape...

I'm drawing a blank on the movement entirely. Sorry!

Vulcain fused with Revue Thommen, Phenix and Buser around 1960 to form the M.S.R. (Manufactures d'horlogerie Suisses Réunies) group. After that, they seem to have grouped their movements too - e.g. the Vulcain Cal. 120 ("Cricket") became the MSR S2 (sometimes given as MSR S23) with almost no modifications. It is possible that the MSR T7 movement was not made by Vulcain but by another member of the group and made available to Vulcain.
