My finds for today. And info needed please.

So I went on a roadtrio with a good friend and stopped at a bunch of antique shops. These are my finds. A little more info on all of them would be appreciated.

    Thanks all,

    G.

First up is a Helbros 17 jewel Invincible. I really like the color layout, the "bezzelless" design. Also, when winding it makes a very loud clicking which is kinda fun.

Next an Elgin Selfwind. Needs some crystal clean up but run great.

Finally a Bernoulli ? 22 jewel automatic. Got it with the original box, strap, amd paperwork. I dont know anything about it though.

I keep typing the same message today... "movement pics would help a lot".

You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Do you know where the Helbros was made? I saw some made in France when I was researching mine but don't think they were 17 jewels.

The Helbros has a French Lorsa movement. Maybe bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Lorsa P62 or similar. But it seems to have 88b on the bridge and I can't find a reference to that offhand.

Thats the problem I was having. I found that movement. But the 88b on the bridge is sending me through a bit of a loop too.

Unfortunately no... The dealer I bought it from knew absolutely nothing about watches (or anything she was selling for that matter, small tears :(...)

    Hi there,

the Helbros has a Lorsa P75A:
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Lorsa P75A
And obviously Helbros used an own calibre designation 88b for it.

The Elgin has likely an AS 1798 or 1892, depending on the beat rate:
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1798

The Bernoulli has a standard China movement like this:
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: China 2813
These are produced by several factories in lots of variants on the same base.

    Regards, Roland Ranfft
