    My first Gruen

Being fairly new to this vintage collecting, so jumping around a bit until I find my "niche" I suppose - but this is my first "Veri-Thin" Bulova.
The bracelet actually was the first thing to catch my eye - it's a Hadley 12k GF with steel back and black enamel panels - all original & perfect.

The watch is 10k GF Wadsworth case with "Tower" lugs and the original arched glass. The movement is a nice 21 jewel 330 cal and the whole thing is signed in dial, movement, case and crown. 36mm L to L.
Whilst I love the bracelet, it's very striking and noticeable - don't know if that's a good or a bad thing?

It's 1940's and I know not much more than that - but I DO like it.

Well I normally don't like stretchy straps - but that is really nice!

I've been a fan of the classic Art Deco Gruens for years, but only recently finally pulled the trigger on a 1937 Curvex. The madness continued with a 1945 Pan American and a 60s Veri-thin.
Congrats on picking up a fine watch. A lot of guys these days shy away from watches this small, but this high quality watch is one Bogey would have worn.

    Oh that's pretty.

But wouldn't a watch like this have a leather strap with a buckle instead?

Nice watch and band. I don't know that the band was intended for the watch because there's no black enamel on the watch but it looks good any way. I do know that Elgin made an Art Deco style watch w/black enamel using the 680 Cal that would be a perfect match

That's what I thought after wearing it a few times - I have a few straps this size coming so I'll probably try it out strapped.
Once I see how it looks I'll decide - maybe use the bracelet for those swell occasions!

This one on Ebay isn't in good condition but it will give you an idea. The black enamal around the bezel would match perfectly with the band. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-Lord-Elgin-...item3ca963fb7a
