    My first Vintage watch!

    Just been given this lovely Nisus by a colleague. It hasnt been wound in over 30 years but fired up straight away and is keeping good time :D The seconds hand was floating around under the crystal, so that was my first job. It is a front loader so it was easy. The case is gold plated and the strap is apparently the original one. I usually mess around with huge Pam homages and it looks ridiculous on my 8.5" wrists but this little gem has got me hooked!

    FYI
    NISUS SA from Pery Neuchatel
    Company was founded 1857.
    Company advertised in 1949 for high quality mens and ladies watches
    Still listed in 1966 and 1973

    Yes, but its the tiny amount of oil that was originally applied to bearings/jewels.
    It goes hard.

    Looks a little like a variation on one of these, possibly in a different size:

    Is there a shield under the balance with an "A" inside? That would confirm it.
