The Cartier is back from service! :) I still don't know exactly when the model was made, but oh well.

A round Santos?! Sound a little like a square Submariner! I didn't know that model came in a round version. Not that it looks bad. Looks a little eighties or early nineties to me.....

    Thanks for showing.

My grandparents bought it while riding on the Concord airliner. My grandmother claims it was a special edition made for Air France. We have the matching women's watch too.

It looks to actually be a model probably from the 1980s.

I hope I have been some help. Its a gorgeous watch!

    Thanks for the compliment!

It looks similar, but it says Santos in the back. The Panthere also has smaller lugs and a rounder bezel. The serial number starts with 81 so it might have been made in 1981.

Did you put the other one in a different post? I seem to remember that having a different bezel like a Panthere instead of the brushed one that this has.

Cartier serviced it, but they didn't tell me anything about the watch.

EDIT: The dial on my watch is also a smoother white. It appears to be either porcelain or enamel. The dial on the Pantheres I have seen are more similar to the classic square Santos my father has.
