    My Xmas gift....

    Hello and Happy New Year

I visited my watchmaker and i bought this Longines, which he had kept for me for 200 euros, as my Xmas gift. It is a very elegant watch and I love the textured dial and the markers. Also I put it a really nice brown leather strap which I think it suits it perfect.

About this watch, it was made at 1952 and it has a longines cal 12.68Z. The serial number in the movement is:
8936310. It is gold-plated and the watch overall is in very good condition.

Here are some "artistic" fotos I took(well I tried...):

Yes it has a very distinctive style with the sub-seconds and that dial. by the way I forgot to mention that I sent a letter to Longines to see what they know about this watch but I am still awaiting their reply...

Well today came the reply from Longines:

    "Dear Mr ,

Thanks for your email and interest into Longines watches.

Following your request, I have the pleasure to give you here below the information I found in our old hand-written registers :

The serial number 8’936’310 identifies a wristwatch in plated Gold with a leather band and the reference 6425.
It is fitted with a Longines manufacture caliber 12.68Z that was first produced in 1929.
It was invoiced to Messrs Paterson, who were for many years our agent for Guinea, on the 24.06.1954.

Hoping this information is convenient to you, I remain at your entire disposal for any additional information you may require.

    Best regards,
    "

So the watch sent to Guinea to the official agent there 2 years after it was made(sice from the serial number occures that it was made in 1952), so now I am looking information about this agent...
