    Mystery (to me) Universal Geneve

I was given the following UG watch as a gift and in having a hard time finding out much about it.

The dial is obviously in poor shape and it won't run for much more than 30 minutes (manually wound) but I do believe I would like to get it repaired. More than likely the repairs will exceed the value of the watch (input is obviously welcomed) but out of respect to the watch and the person giving it to me I do think I would like to repair it.

Thoughts? Ideas on age? Best place to have it repaired?

    Very nice.

If you can get the back off, UG often put the serial number on the inside of the case back so it could be dated: TimeZone : TZ Classics » Universal Geneve serial number/production date listing...> and we could also see the movement.

It would be helpful if you would alter your profile to indicate which country you live in if you want watchmaker suggestions.

I'm ashamed to say it -- but I'm not confident at even starting to get off a non screw down case back.

It also appears to have "IBK" at the top of the case back (engraved) and "20456" at the bottom.

There are a couple of US watchmaker lists here https://forums.watchuseek.com/f295/us...ks-166630.html

If there's one near you, he or she might be happy to take the back off for you so you could take pics.
