With a name like dynabeat, it has to be from the 70s!

I recently got this timex dynabeat watch:

I put in a fresh battery, and she started to tick.
I put her on my wrist, and she stops after about 10 seconds or so, any ideas gentlemen?

My first and foremost guess is that the watch needs cleaning...
Thank You all in advance for any comments!

Given the damage to the case, I suspect corrosion of the movement. Sorry but you have a parts watch.

You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

@joeuk, yes sir, tap it a few times and she starts right back up. The balance wheel on this unit seems a tad
wobbly when I take the battery off and put a bit of pressure on it.

@Eeeb, I have a gut feeling you are correct, I can probably still sport this watch if I stay horizontal and motionless while I wear it (and I don't plan on doing that any time soon!).

Luckily I didn't pay much for it, but it is an interesting movement to look at, and keep for parts for future use!
