Question Need advice about Atlantic Power Reserve watch

    Hi everybody,

I need your advice about a watch I might buy. The watch seems to be in very good condition and is listed on a local website. The movement looks like a nice AS movement with the power reserve indication. The price is about 100e and I'm not sure about it. My birthday and the new year are near so I might treat myself.

First, it seemed to me that the dial is a redial. Fortunately, I managed to find the exact model in an old catalogue (on the Atlantic watch website). It's interesting that it was the priciest wrist watch beside a triple date chronograph with a moon phase.

Do the watch looks OK? Should I take the plunge?

There was an additional image with a measurement of about 31-32mm without the crow. In the description it's mentioned as 32mm from side to side. It's seems quite OK for a square case.

Yes, it will seem significantly bigger than a 32mm round case.

For what it's worth, the movement is by A.Schild, something from this family:bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: AS 1336

I really like that, not sure if it’s a redial or it but it looks lovely anyway.

I tend to think it's not as the image in the catalogue is the same as the watch and the print is quite crisp.

I think I'll decide today if I'll buy it or not. :S

Re: Need advice about Atlantic Power Reserve watch

I decided to cool down. The watch case is very interesting and it's a rare/uncommon model, but I was not a 100% sure I want it right now. I have quite a few other watch projects that need attention. I'll look around a bit more, I might as well invest in some second hand watchmaker tools.

Thank you everybody for your inputs! It helped.
