need help identifying age of Ingersoll radiolite (pics inside)

    Hello,

Joined this wonderful forum today. I just picked up this watch for a buck over the weekend. Runs and keeps good time.

Any help on the year and specific model would be great. Looks like serial# is G0964116.

    Hi and welcome.

I know next to nothing about these - hopefully someone will stop by who can help.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I have one very similar but was made in Great Britain and I am sure mine was from the 60s. They are a cheap movement with 0 jewels but still they run very well. Sorry I cant give any more info, hope someone can come a long and help you more.

    Thanks gents.

It is indeed a 'dollar watch' with no jewels, so I'm glad the dollar I paid is in keeping with that in spite of inflation.

I've found out that the serial # suggests it might be from about 193X and also sold under the crown name in the UK among others.

Also of note... found an almost duplicate (same hands, dial, case, movement, loop, lugs, finish, but missing serial # on movement) on ebay INGERSOLL RADIOLITE CHROME POCKET WATCH ~ RUNNING | eBay

    PS, nice looking PW Joe.

Nice watch. If it is from the 1930s with original parts, be careful about the risk of radium dial/hands when taking it apart, especially if there is loose dust or flakes of paint. It might have stopped glowing, but it will still be radioactive.
