    Need help identifying Tissot

    http://picasaweb.google.com/richdonn...XzsJaxwo-NtAE#

My grandfather gave me this watch. He did not know much about it. I see an engraving on the inside of the back cover and I think is says 1953. According to my grandpa he has had the watch a lot longer than that. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it. Thanks.

    Re: Need help identifying Tissot

My guess would be c.1940 - but there are some better informed Tissot collectors in here who will stop by in a while. If you could post a picture of the back of the case and, ideally, of the movement (if you have the tool to take the back off safely) that would help.

The black face looks like it could have been military issue.

Great. The serial number 1146361 dates it to 1941.

    Hi there,

    it's a calibre 27:

The designation "27" is surely written under the balance.

Yes. I want to do a complete restoration of this watch as well as a vintage Seamaster I have had sitting around for a year or so. I will get pictures up when they are done.
