Need help opening a vintage case back

Short of going to a jeweler or watchmaker, how can I open this case back below? It is for a small Lucerne watch from what I think is the 60s that I got off the bay. Am not sure if any of the attachments on my Jaxa opener would work. I tried using a rubbery friction ball opener and it took like 15 minutes of trying just to get the back to maybe do one turn. It is still attached. Any one familiar with this type of back? Thanks in advance.

the bevelled angles makes it look like the type that I dread .. a snap off pretending to be a screw off
    My new sig -----

Over the years I've collected all sorts of movements and "project" watches ... mainly inexpensive vintage pieces.

These days I've widened my gaze to include modern pieces (including quartz with analog or analog + digital displays) but with those I'm generally looking for models in solid steel cases.

Ha, thanks for the tip! I just snapped it off with a small knife.
