Need a little help in making a choice

    Hey Cats,

Planning on selling off a few vintage pieces to fund another project and one of these trench styles will be going.
I'm having a hard time deciding on which.

The Waltham is really cool especially having found the advertisement for the exact watch, the problems that it has is some cracks formed in the porcelain and a chip that I touched up at the for o'clock position and your typical tool marks from years of being opened for servicing. However these issues do not bother me in any way, in fact it adds to the charm.

The Elgin has no real issues except for the tool marks. I feel that it has a better movement than the Waltham though. I do believe that the case lug wire is an add on as it's not as nicely executed as the wire on the Waltham.

I really do like each watch equally so it matters not which I keep.

Give me a hand folks, if you had the choice to buy either watch which would you go with? If you could base your decision on style and not condition that would be appreciated as well.

Take note though the two snap style strap will be used on the watch I keep.

    Peace,
    Preston

    Elgin!
There is so much that I like about it. Hands, face, color, just the overall look of it really appeals to me! Love it!

I'd go with the Waltham. I like the size and the oversize numerals. I could picture putting on a nice shrapnel guards on it!

I have a guard coming for them, it would be more suitable for the Waltham but my buddy who's hooking me up thinks it'll fit the Elgin as it's case diameter is a little bigger.

I could picture a telephone dial shrapnel guard on the Elgin, and a checkerboard guard for the Waltham....just saying :)

Preston has posted the Elgin many times before. This is not my first time seeing it.
Plus you know me, I love anything Elgin.

Oops, I should have noticed the footer of your post - sorry
But how did you make out which of both is the Elgin?

However, it drives me crazy when I see how phone cams bomb photography back into the stone age. The makers of this crap advertise with useless megapixels and as useless sensitivity, but never with resolution. Meanwhile kids already believe that photos must look like that, and adults aren't ashamed of publishing such pics worldwide.

I'm in total agreement but alas I've allowed myself to be fooled by the convenience. My best phone shots come from window sill or outside. I really should get back into that habit.
