Need recommendation for an excellent watch restorer in the U.S

Hi there guys, I am picking up my new vintage watch. I need a recommendation for an excellent watch restorer in the United States.

I went online and found a few that do specialized services such as laser welding etc but know nothing about them.
I would be grateful to be introduced to someone that reall knows their stuff.

Thanks and and looking forward to all the inputs.

    Joey.

Hey man, you need to give us something to go on. You're basically asking how long a piece of string is.

Yes, what exactly is it that you need? And perhaps you can show some photos. Unless it is something very specialized, like dial restoration, case re-finishing, etc., it's quite likely that you can find someone local.

Still can't tell much about the watch. If it's solid gold and you want the shape of the case restored, that's one thing, and I can give you a recommendation for that. But generally that's something you would only bother with for a high end watch.

If it's plated, and you are looking to get it re-plated, I have heard good things about Replateit.com - Watch Case Restoration .

Somewhat different type of work, but I had a good experience with ABCWatchwerks (ABC WATCHWERKS - HOME) who were able to restore the original lines and distinctive polished/brushed finish of a watch case for me. They serviced the watch, and also went the extra mile to find the right crystal, and were very sensitive to my wishes as a collector. It was not cheap, but I would use them again for that type of work.

Again, I would only recommend making a major investment in case restoration for a high-end desirable/collectible watch.

With low- and mid-tier watches, I think the best approach is to buy something that you like, have the movement serviced, and enjoy. Don't pour money into them.
