    'New' 60's Tissot PR516 chrono

Just had this come in today, bought in a very nice easy deal from forum member 'Sometimeago' :thanks

    It's a 60's PR516 triple register chrono with Lemania 873 movement.

The strap is an original Tissot, but not original to this watch, but I think it looks pretty cool

    Thanks for looking

    Terrific watch.

It looks to be in very nice shape - the bezel doesn't show any wear that I can see.

And the strap is great on it too.

Very nice! Just like an Ω 861.

The watch, and bezel is in pretty good shape, which is great as I've seen a few where the bezel is shot, missing or been replaced with the wrong one, so I had to grab this when it came up

It needs a few jobs doing to it, and will be shortly making it's way to my watchguy for some TLC after I've worn it for a while, so will be spot on then.

I do love the strap too, and it's a good fit and pretty comfortable

One and the same quite possibly (he says without checking 1st ) as obviously Lemania were part of the Tissot/Omega group!!

Which model watch is this picture from??

Nice shot by the way I've really got to try to find the charger for my DSLR as the cameraphone isn't all that!!

    It's a '68 De Ville:

And thanks for the compliment, but it's not really the greatest shot. Most of the movement pics I get are in terrible fluorescent lighting at my watchmaker's shop, but you gotta make do.

Nice I saw one of these in S/S at a watch fair last sunday, and it was in pretty good condition, but the guy wanted lots of money for it and I'd already got this coming in

Know what you mean about getting sharp mov't pics.......I can never seem to get the lighting right!!

This is a good example of the same movement in several brands. Lemania was still an independent company I believe when these movements were made. They actually made complete watches too but the vast majority of their movements were encased by other vendors.

On the Tissot, the bracelet is far rarer than the watch... and if you are looking for one, will probably cost you more too!

Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter

...that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before and will be again and might be now!

Lighting is the hardest part of watch photography... then comes attention to depth of field which is normally mitigated by strong lighting. The photography forum has tips.
